Plastic insulated power cables Power cables with extruded plastic insulation. Plastics commonly used by cable manufacturers are polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, and cross-linked polyethylene. The plastic cable has simple structure, convenient manufacturing and processing, light weight, convenient laying and installation, and is not limited by laying drop. Therefore, it is widely used as medium and low voltage cables, and has a tendency to replace viscous impregnated oil-paper cables. Its biggest disadvantage is the existence of dendrite breakdown, which limits its use at higher voltages. PVC power cables are low in price and widely used, but have large dielectric loss, and are generally used in systems with operating voltages below 10 kV.

The insulation layer of rubber insulated power cable manufacturers is made of rubber plus various compounding agents, which are extruded on the conductive wire core after full mixing and vulcanized by heating. It is soft and elastic, suitable for occasions with frequent movement and small bending radius. Therefore, it is often used as mining cables, marine cables, mining machinery, and cables for X-ray machines. Its structural feature is that the wire core is twisted with multiple thinner monofilaments, and the twisting pitch is smaller. Commonly used rubber materials for insulation include natural rubber styrene-butadiene rubber mixture, ethylene-propylene rubber, butyl rubber, etc.


According to the voltage level can be divided into:

Low-voltage cables: suitable for fixed laying on transmission and distribution lines with AC 50Hz, rated voltage 3kv and below for power transmission.

Use characteristics: ①The maximum rated temperature of the cable conductor is 90°C. ②The maximum temperature of the cable conductor does not exceed 250°C during short circuit (the longest duration is not more than 5 seconds).

Medium and low voltage cables: (generally refer to 3 5 KV and below): PVC insulated cables, polyethylene insulated cables, XLPE insulated cables, etc.

High-voltage cables: (generally 110KV and above): polyethylene cables and XLPE insulated cables, etc.

Extra-high voltage cables: (275~800 kV).

UHV cables: (1000 kV and above). Representative type vv22 vv32 series; yjv32 yjv22 series. Including flame-retardant, fire-resistant power cables.

Executive standard: GB/T 12706-2002 (equivalent to IEC502), flame-retardant cables and fire-resistant cables also comply with IE332-3, IEC331, and can also be produced according to the technical requirements of users.
